People often ask how we came up with the idea for Aristara. The truth is it didn’t come from a whiteboard or a pitch deck. It came from a family legacy rooted in hospitality.

Our story begins near LAX, where our Asian American family has owned and operated a hotel since 1998. To most, LAX is just an airport. To us, it’s always been more- a portal between worlds, a symbol of connection between East and West.

Growing up, I was surrounded by the rhythm of the hotel world. I witnessed the early mornings, the late-night check-ins, the constant balancing act behind every guest experience. Hospitality shaped the backdrop of our family life, teaching me the quiet strength of service, resilience, and adaptation.

As I moved between the worlds of hospitality and technology, one truth became clear: hotel operators carry immense responsibility and are often underserved by the tools available to them.

So we asked, "What if AI could be more than a tool? What if it could elevate the human experience, not replace it?"

That question became Aristara.

Our name reflects our mission:

  • Aristos - Greek for “best,” “superior thinker.”

  • Tara - Sanskrit and Hindi for “star,” the eternal guide.
